BACKGROUND
Despite its natural wealth, the country nevertheless faces many socio-economic challenges, which include high unemployment, poverty, social inequality, and limited access to public services. These difficulties continue to engulf South Africans and have an impact on the quality of life and the economy collectively. The more community support there is, the more opportunities businesses will have to thrive. This could include how communities interact with each other, or how safe people feel within a community. Putting the world back on a path of sustainable, equitable, and inclusive growth will require more than a global recovery; it will require all nations to realise that for us to Change Tomorrow, we have to Act Today, for a great reset of social and economic systems

CSI programmes are not intended to drive company profit, but they can create benefits for a company. More than 98% of companies gave 44% of CSI expenditure towards education. Despite the efforts to recover from the economic shock brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, South African businesses spent almost R11-billion on CSI projects in the 2022 financial year.
